KitchenAid ProLine 12-Cup Coffeemaker - Nickel Pearl
Comment: Nice solid machine. Only problem is that it didn't come with a permanent basket for the coffee grounds and the carafe leaks sometimes when pouring.

Summary: Just a lemon? 2010-02-26
Comment: This coffeemaker is another example of a product where the poor quality of one single part turns the whole thing into industrial trash in a very short time. While the concept and design of the machine seem well thought out and the coffee tasted good, the shower head, a plastic part which cannot be replaced and is located right above the coffee basket, broke into a multitude of pieces after just 5 months of careful and moderate daily use. The representative who handled the warranty replacement knew immediately which component it was, which means this wasn't a case of just one single lemon. In addition, the company is not able to replace the item in the same color: If you buy it in Nickel Pearl, you'll get a replacement in Black! Why then offer Nickel Pearl in the first place?

Summary: Horrible waste of money 2010-02-03
Comment: I can waste money with the best of them and frankly I enjoy it most times but I really do expect to get a bit more for my effort. I have the entire KitchenAid Pro Line of appliances. Bought them 3 years ago when I remodeled the kitchen. I think the price of this was more than $300 then. I have always been a fan of KitchenAid and still am except for this POS. The entire finish is flaking/peeling off and it looks like I went dumpster diving for it. Today I could not pull the water filter out to change it because the finish is so corroded around it. I am going back to the tried and true Bunn. You may be thinking I have exceptionally nasty water but I have never used anything but bottled water in my coffee maker.

Summary: Greates coffeemaker ever! 2009-11-14
Comment: I love this coffeemaker. I have had no problem with the unit. I paid $50 for the unit at an outlet store on clearance and when I bought it I didnt understand why anyone would pay full price for the unit. After using the unit I believe that I would pay the price that is listed on Amazon.com because it makes wonderful coffee. I didnt think one coffeemaker was different than any other but this one makes better coffee than any other coffeemaker than I have had before. The unit comes with a two year full replacement warranty and kitchenaid will pay for you to ship it back. You just call the customer service number and they send you a box to ship it back in. I dont often get this excited over an appliance, but this coffeemaker is really great!

Summary: Very good so far 2009-10-22
Comment: I've had this maker for two weeks and (so far) it lives up to expectations. It makes a very good pot of coffee very quickly, and the warmer keeps the pot piping hot for two hours without burning the coffee at all. Some have complained about its lack of a thermal carafe, but I honestly don't think it's necessary unless you're taking the whole pot to another room.
I am concerned about the numerous posts regarding its reliability, but I've been far more disappointed by being "stuck" with lesser coffee makers that also die in a year and don't have such great warranty service.
