It has a 200-watt motor with a stainless steel blade to grind whole beans for the freshest taste and the richest aroma. It has a heavy-duty motor housing and bowl with a hi-impact top cover. Its sleek design provides an elegant look, and comes in four smart colors. To use, simply push down on the center top cover and your beans will grind to the consistency desired. Remove the top cover and bowl and pour your ground beans into your coffee maker. Other features include a dual interlock system that locks the top cover in place before grinding, a pulse control, and etched markings to adjust the amount of grinds to your liking.

The machine turns on when you push down on the clear polycarbonate cover and off again when it's released. Summary: Well Built and Reliable Grinder 2008-08-26
Comment: This grinder is well worth the money as it functions perfectly every time I reach for it. It has been used about 4 times a week for over one year now, and has never malfunctioned. Also great for grinding spices, but should not be used for coffee once converted into a spice grinder because it becomes permeated with spices permanently.

Comment: I was VERY impressed by this product. In a matter of

Summary: simple, cheap, functional 2008-08-11
Comment: Used to have the simple Krups coffee grinder, which did the job... but was not dishwasher safe... and hence despite cleaning with a damp towel, the motor corroded & the grinder died after 1 year. This is where KitchenAid did a better job, by having a detachable bowl.
The only negative point: sometime not a very homogeneous grinding of the coffee beans.
