Perfect for preparing coffee at home before dashing out the door, this coffeemaker brews through the lids directly into either one or both of the 14-ounce travel mugs accompanying the machine. The stainless-steel mugs have rubber, nonslip grips, fit most vehicle cup holders, and are 6-3/4 inches high, with 2-5/8-inch-diameter rubber bottoms. Lids keep coffee hot in the mugs and are deeply indented and sloped toward the drink hole to contain spills. Both mugs and their lids are dishwasher-safe. The coffeemaker uses disposable paper filters (two included), automatically shuts off after the brewing process, and can also be used to heat water for tea, hot chocolate, and instant foods like oatmeal and soup. Made of gleaming black plastic, the coffeemaker measures 13 inches high, 5-1/4 inches wide, and 8-1/2 inches deep, and carries a three-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Summary: Makes good coffee but needs work 2008-11-26
Comment: I've used this product for some time now. About two months after I bought it the little pivoting plastic handle on the coffee basket broke. I contacted Cuisinart who sent me another basket. After a couple months that one broke too. I ended up tying a piece of mono filament fishing line to the top of the basket which has been working ever since. Cuisinart needs to improve this design. While they are at it...I would prefer a mug with no metal on it so I could put it in the microwave and zap it for a couple seconds after adding cold creamer. It makes pretty good coffee though. The other reviewers are correct; the two cups do not fill equally.

Summary: Perfect for busy professionals 2008-11-22
Comment: My husband and I were spending mucho dinero on our coffee habit -- 20 ounces, whether at Starbucks or at WaWa, of coffee per day sure adds up over the weeks and months. We were determined to save money, and time since coffee shops are well out of our way.
I saw some of the negative reviews about this product, but I was bouyed by the name and the positive reviews I saw as well, so I sunk my money into this coffee machine, and I honestly could not be happier. My husband or I pre-load the machine with coffee and water before bed; when we get up in the morning, we hit the on button, and by the time we're done getting ready, the coffee is hot and ready to go.
I have never had a problem with this coffee machine and would recommend it to anyone with only a few minutes to get ready in the morning and hoping for a way to decrease their coffee bill every week. We used to spend $20 on Starbucks/Dunkin Donuts/WaWa every week for the two of us. Now, we spend $6 on a bag of Newman's Own coffee ever other week. It's excellent!

Summary: convenient and reliable little coffeemaker 2008-11-22
Comment: We've had this coffeemaker for about 10 years and use it daily (more than once, often several times) and it is still going strong! It's great for having fresh coffee at any time. My husband will not drink coffee that's been sitting around on a hotplate, and since we drink different types of coffee, this machine is great because we just make it separately. We do have a smaller one-cup coffeemaker, but since we use travel mugs a lot we prefer this one. Our regular coffeemaker gets used only when we have company.
I was surprised by all the negative reviews as our on-off button has never been a problem, we've brewed coffee into all kinds of mugs and cups without difficulty, and it always comes out tasting good. However, I can't comment on the uneven distribution of coffee between two cups since we tend to make one at a time. If that happened you'd have to be there during brewing and remove the cup that filled first and push the other to the center, which would be inconvenient.
For our purposes, this coffeemaker is great.
