Bodum 34-Ounce Coffee Press Glass Replacement Beaker

Comment: A "cup" when talking about coffee, is always measured in tasos, which are 4 fl. oz. This beaker holds 8 tasos (8 x 4 fl. oz. = 32 fl. oz.). This is a replacement beaker for an 8 cup (taso) Bodum french press.

I love french press coffee. So rich and full bodied. But the glass carafes do break easily. Store them away from heavy kitchen appliances such as mixers. I've had to replace mine twice in the past 4 years, but it's worth it.

Bodum also makes a SAR unbreakable replacement beaker, but note that you must also replace the filter when switching to the SAR unbreakable beaker.

Comment: A fresh cup of gourmet coffee(coarsely ground), prepared in my French Press is a daily luxury I allow myself. However, even the most careful user finds soapy hands and a small tap on the sink, will lead to a cracked beaker, and you're out of business. Getting replacements locally are rare, and VERY pricey($25+). I lucked out and found a merchant at Amazon where I bought two (2), satisfied the $25 free shipping requirements, and within a week I was back in business, with a spare, for under $30. S-a-w-e-e-e-t!!!

Comment: We purchased two replacement beakers when one chipped in the dishwasher. The plan was to keep a spare handy in case another one breaks. We now use both. We typically run through two pots each morning and the 2nd breaker is "staged" while we are drinking the first pot.

Comment: Beaker does not the 4 & 6 cup markings like the original but otherwise it was perfect.

Comment: This is a replacement beaker. The entire product makes wonderful coffee. You just need to make sure you don't drop the beaker, like I did with the original. Glass breaks!
