Summary: steam leakage 2007-11-10
Comment: I bought this machine and even though you tighten it, the steam pours out. I have had this same type of stove top maker in the past and never had this problem. I returned it and I bought a cheapy machine from T J Mack for $14.99 and it worked perfectly. However, it was not the stainless steal model. It had many more grouves and one had to go round and round until it stopped but it was as tight as a drum. This Bialetti machine is worthless and I certainly wouldn't recommend anyone buying it. It could be a problem with quality control where some are ok and others not, but why take the chance of getting a bad one. A friend ordered the same brand and had the same experience.

Summary: Great moca coffee maker 2007-10-21
Comment: This is a great little pot. The lid hinge pin is a little flimsy but overall a great product. Get the largest model possible because the cup reference is 1.5 oz vs a standard 4 to 5 oz cup of coffee. For a moca brew technique see my comment to the potential dangerous post.

Summary: Stick with stainless... 2007-08-06
Comment: I have several stove top makers in the style of varying sizes. This is by far my favorite. I prefer the stainless makers because the aluminum do seem to corrode more readily. I've never experienced an accident the other person describes. If truly not due to operator error, my guess it was a faulty pressure release valve. All my friends also use this type of maker, and none have had this problem.

Summary: One of Bialetti's best. 2007-07-20
Comment: This is an excellent machine. I've used Bialetti products for years and I really enjoy having this model. It's just the right size for me and is very easy to use. To the person who says theirs exploded, I have no idea how it could have done that. I've used these various models for years and years-going back more years than I care to remember in fact-and I've never had any kind of problem with the operation of a stovetop forced-steam coffee maker.
This is a really good product for a good price, and if you're paranoid about cooking in Aluminum, then this stainless steel unit is for you.

Summary: Potentially Dangerous 2006-09-02
Comment: I have used this type of product in the past so I don't think it was incorrect usage of the product. On my first use of the product the top blew off of the coffee maker with a very explosive force. It sprayed grounds and hot water up to 20 feet from the stove. Luckily no one was near it when it happened. I reported this to Bialetti but have received no response. I would be wary of all of these types of products.
